Feature ideas in detail
What each feature does, which release it's planned for, and whether it's Free or Pro. High impact marks the ones we expect to matter most.
Know your devices
Custom names, icons & groups
Rename any device, pick its icon, and group devices into rooms or roles like Office, Cameras or IoT. Sort and filter by group.
Device history
First seen, last seen and an online/offline timeline for every device, so you can tell a visitor from a regular.
UPnP, SNMP & IPv6 discovery
Ask devices what they are: model numbers from UPnP and SNMP, plus devices that only appear on IPv6.
Network map
A visual map of your network: gateway in the middle, devices grouped around it, new devices highlighted.
Scan comparison
Compare any two scans and see what joined, what left, and what changed (a new open port, a new IP).
Shared notes
Share device names and notes with family or a small team through iCloud. No IPScout servers involved.
Stay informed
Widgets
Devices online, new devices and last scan on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, Mac desktop and Apple Watch face.
Up / down alerts
Get a notification when a device you care about goes offline or comes back, such as the NAS, a camera or the router.
Live Activity
Follow a long scan from the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island while you do something else.
PDF network reports
A clean, printable report of every device, service and change: ideal for audits or handing over to a client.
Apple TV wallboard
A full-screen, always-on view for a server room or office: live device count, alerts and favourites status.
Network health check
One tap flags common risks: Telnet left open, old file sharing, admin pages without HTTPS, and unknown devices.
Work faster
Siri & Shortcuts
“Scan my network”, “Wake Office PC” or “How many devices are online?”, plus building blocks for your own automations.
iCloud sync
Favourites, notes and known devices follow you from Mac to iPhone to iPad, privately in your own iCloud.
Saved sites
Save each network you look after with its own ranges and favourites. IPScout recognises the site when you join its network.
Speed test
Download, upload, latency and responsiveness in one tap, plus a Wi-Fi speed test between your own Apple devices to find out if the Wi-Fi or the internet is the slow part. Results are saved so you can track them over time.
Live ping graph
Continuous latency graph for any device, with jitter and packet loss, to prove (or rule out) a flaky connection.
Wi-Fi details
Network name, channel, band and signal strength of your current Wi-Fi, plus your public IP and DNS servers.
Built-in SSH & web view
Open a device's web page or an SSH session right inside IPScout. No other apps needed on iPhone or iPad.
Scheduled Wake-on-LAN
Wake a PC or NAS at a set time each day, or from a Shortcut when you arrive home.
More languages
IPScout in more languages, starting with the most-requested, plus full VoiceOver and Dynamic Type polish.
What won't change
The principles every new feature has to fit.
